This view is one that I take in, every summer, from the beach that I have frequented since childhood, to the island I have visited many times, and to the dock that I have jumped off at high tide with friends and family alike, on more occasions than I can count. Jumping off the dock was a childhood rite of passage. I even remember a few days during my teens where we thought it would be a great thing to do on the first warm day in April. If someone suggested it now, I would politely decline! It is a special spot to me, and to generations of others, as a place to read, swim, collect sea glass, launch kayaks, and visit with neighbors.
